The standard setup prioritises stability and false-alarm rejection while reliably detecting even small movements within approximately 4–5 m.

Operation and calibration

The sensor uses FMCW mmWave radar and does not rely on the infrared radiation used by conventional PIR sensors. It detects movement and micro-movement up to 6 m and then sends a 1527 code at 433 MHz to the alarm control panel. The standard calibration balances sensitivity and false-alarm immunity; on request EMPIREA can adjust thresholds, ranges and sensitivity for the installation environment.
